Blemmyae
The Blemmyae.
This is another one of my favourite monster type creatures of all time. He is wearing swim trunks for decency. They are said to live south of Egypt, and may or may not be cannibals?

Mystery Panther.
So, of course panthers are real, right? But people report seeing these things everywhere. Especially in places where there have never been panthers, like the upper midwest of America and eastern Canada.
Most of the time, photos and videos of these mystery panthers are just a black cat walking in some tall grass. MYSTERY PANTHERS.
(So not actually a monster, then.)
Well what do you know. Just now I found this: (link) Maybe they are not so crazily rare after all.

couple things.
But for now, here are some character designs for the newest DAC challenge, as well as a Chupacabra. Because why hadn't I drawn a chupacabra until now? Sheez. There is a backlog of unscanned monsters on their way!
(The challenge was to create designs based on some shapes, which I used to design the heads of these prom animals.)

The Doghead!
I guess the doghead is less of a cryptid, but it's still a monster type thing. So it counts. The medieval church deemed them 'human' since they wore clothes, and even sent missionaries to find their secret dog-head villages.
Since it was common knowledge that dogheads were totally, totally real, they were blamed for all kinds of shenanigans.
...Getting a tiny bit backlogged with finishing/scanning all these monsters, so a jumbo catch-up post is coming up soon. (I will recolour this doodle.)

Predator X
Another sea monster! They are clearly the best.
PREDATOR X!
You can read more about him here. He was the biggest and scariest thing ever. Man. Nature can be spooky.

CHESSIE
The Chesapeke Bay sea serpent! Chessie is known for being a pretty friendly sea serpent, and has never attacked anyone, probably.

Racoonigator
I don't know much about the coonigator, other than it basically acts like a raccoon. Also, typically they are just a possum. (Possums do sort of look like a terrifying cross between an alligator and a raccoon) Either way, they like to eat garbage.
I feel this drawing could also be an awful football mascot. The fightin' Racoonigators.

the skunk ape.
the Great American Skunk Ape!
Reportedly the name 'skunk ape' comes from their horrible, overpowering stink and not from having stripes. Also, most of these apes are spotted in dense swampy areas and not in back alleys eating garbage. I guess they are also reported to have 'glowing eyes'.

Summer Monster Party.
Starting Saturday (after drawing the Seabishop), I've decided to draw a cryptozoological creature every day for 30 days! I will post my progress as regularly as I can.
Here are my first two, the SeaBishop (coloured in) and the GOUGOU, a giantess from the St. Laurence who's favourite foods include sailors, fur traders and pirates. (Anyone who comes near her island, pretty much)
